Chicano Resource Center's Goals and Objectives

The objectives of the CRC include: 
bullet Maintenance of a strong instructional and research collection in Chicano Studies.
bullet Serving the needs of campus programs and departments such as Chicano Studies, Latin American Studies, Bilingual Education, History, Sociology, etc.
bullet Documenting all aspects of Chicano history, culture, socioeconomic conditions, health, politics, literature, and religion.
bullet The development of a research collection on Chicano/Latino contributions to Orange County local history.
bullet Exerting positive influence on the academic success of Chicano/Latino students through the creation of a supportive instructional and research environment, extensive cooperation with other campus support programs, and other intervention techniques.
bullet Establishment of a readily-identifiable Research Center to provide a host of specialized services and collections.
bullet Maintain active networking with other academic programs, libraries, and community-based programs.
bullet Serve as a mechanism for establishing stronger links between CSUF and the surrounding community.
