Books can provide a broad overview of a topic, as well as in-depth
information. They often include a bibliography. A bibliography is a
list of books and articles that the author used in
researching the book.
Always note the date of the book. More
current information may be available in periodical articles. To find books on
your topic in the CSUF Library, use the
Library Catalog. You can search the
Library Catalog using author,
title, subject, or keywords. Materials in this library are
classified using the
Library of Congress Subject Headings.
Materials in this library are shelved by call number according to
the
Library of Congress classification system.
If the Pollak
Library does not have a book you need:
-
First try
LINK+ and request the books online.
The LinK+ system will search for the books with about
twenty Universities in this area. Books can be obtained in about 3
three working days.
-
Other Library catalogs, such as
the University of California's Melvyl, can be found on the
Libraries and Online Catalogs page. Materials found there can be
requested from
InterLibrary Loan.
-
Also, your CSUF ID can be used at any CSU Library to borrow books. Check
CSU Library Web Sites to
see the Library Catalogs of other CSU Libraries.
