Finding
WWW and the library

World Wide Web for the Arts and the Humanities & Social Sciences

The Web or Internet is different than other "types of information" -- many of which are published in multiple formats, including the Web.

The WWW is a place and a format for publication. Almost anyone can publish here without restriction -- including academic publishers, newspapers, government, and Aunt Agnes with a modem.

Consider:

  • What do you know about the Internet?

  • How successful are you at finding the information you need?

  • What strategies do you use to determine if the information is good?

  • Where do you begin your search?

  • Why would you use the WWW?
