This is the new, online edition of RMA’s Annual Statement Studies. eStatement Studies includes 5 years of financial ratios and benchmarks for over 600 industries, arranged by NAICS number.Data for each industry may be viewed for the whole country or by geographic region.

As ratio books give the average performance of companies of certain size and in a certain industry, they are especially useful to determine the performance of small private companies whose financials are usually not reported anywhere.   Current 5 years industry ratio books are on Business Table. Earlier volumes are in Reference stacks with the same call numbers. They are:

• Troy’s Almanac of Business and Industrial Financial Ratios
• Robert Morris’ Annual Statement Studies (RMA)

Electronic Resources

• The Financial Profiles in Company and Markets of Factiva gives summaries of comparative financial performances between U. S. companies and industries, while the Financial Profile provides all the key financial ratios of publicly traded companies for the past 5 years.
• The Research Center of Reuters Investor includes key ratios and statistics for publicly traded companies.
• The Stock Center of MorningStar includes valuation ratios for over 300 companies.  Note:  You Must sign up for free membership to recieve this information.
• Mergent Online provides annual financial ratios for domestic and international corporations dating back to 1989.
