The Library has almost 3 million books, magazines, microfilm/fiche and AV materials.   The best way to find items is to use the catalog   http://opac.fullerton.edu

Books can provide a good overview of a topic, as well as in-depth information. A book
often includes a bibliography or list of additional resources (other books, articles, etc.).

Always note the date of a book (more current information may be available in periodical
articles).  Most searches are by author, title, subject, or keywords.  Only the titles of journals and magazines are in the OPAC, NOT the author or title of an article.

LOCATION:
Materials in this library are classified and shelved by call numbers according to the Library of Congress classification system.  Library of Congress Subject Headings are used to describe the primary subjects covered.

The subject headings used to describe books about careers are mainly Vocational Guidance and Vocational Guidance--United States.  You can search the catalog with these subject headings, or with a specific field listed first, such as Accounting Vocational Guidance, or Teaching Vocational Guidance United States.

The Career Planning and Placement Center also has a collection of up-to-date books, periodicals, and other resources.

To locate and borrow books from other libraries first try Link+.  Books are delivered to the library in 3-5 days.
Other Library catalogs, such as the University of California's Melvyl, can be found on the
Find Books and more
page.  Materials found there can be requested online from InterLibrary Loan.

SEARCHING THE OPAC:
