Library Catalog subjects are Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH). The Library Catalog may direct you from an incorrect to a correct LCSH, e.g., Organic Chemistry see Chemistry, Organic. The Library Catalog may also link you to related LCSH that you may wish to consult.

Keywords can also be used in the Library Catalog to find relevant materials. For example,  "enzyme kinetics" is not a valid LCSH, but you can find relevant titles using those keywords and then search valid LCSH "chemical kinetics" or "enzymes". Similarly, searching the keyword "titration" can lead to the valid LCSH "volumetric analysis".
