Books

Books can provide a broad overview of a topic, as well as in-depth information. Books are often a good place to start your research as you will quickly develop background knowledge on your topic. Books often include a bibliography, or a list of books and articles the same topic.

To find books on your topic in the CSUF Library, use the library catalog, which is the library's online catalog. Search this catalog by author, title, subject, or keywords.  Materials in this library are given Library of Congress Subject Headings. and are shelved by call number according to the Library of Congress classification system.

HV is the general call number assigned to Criminal Justice.  Books with this call number are kept on the 5th floor of the south wing of Pollak Library.

If this library does not have a book you need:
    1. You can obtain it from another library through
LINK+ , which is a system which
will allow you to request the  books online.
    2. You may request the book through
InterLibrary Loan
    3. Your CSUF ID can be used at any CSU Library to borrow books.
    4.  You may check to see
what other library's own.

Always note the date of the book.   More current information may be available in periodical articles.
