Books can provide a broad overview of a topic as well as in-depth information. Books will often include a bibliography, or a list of more books and articles on the same topic.  Books provide good sources of biographies, dance techniques, can give advice on developing a career, choreography and more.  Books in Pollak Library can be checked out for four weeks and renewed once for two weeks using the CSUF Titan Card. You may also renew books online through the Library Catalog, click on "View your Library Record."

Library Catalog The Library Catalog (Online Public Access Catalog) is the catalog of everything that this library owns.  It is an online database, open to the public, so that you can find out if we own the material you need while still at home. The web address is http://opac.fullerton.edu

Search tips for using the Library Catalog:

Finding Biographies
  • Use the catalog and search by the name of the person as a subject.  Be sure to enter the name as last name, first name.
        example: Graham, Martha
Or you can search by the subject "Dancers-Biography."
Find Dance Information on a Country
  • Use the catalog, search by subject "Country-Dance, "
           example: Mexico-Dance.
  • You may find some information under the subject heading "County-Social Life and Customs,"
           example: Mexico-Social Life and Customs.
  • Also search the catalog by keyword for important dances in the country,
           example: Flamenco.
