How can I tell if CSUF subscribes to a journal? Go to Top of Page

bulletSearch Find Journals by Title for the journal title. If we subscribe to the journal, in either paper or electronic format, you'll find a record there. The record may link you to the Pollak Library Catalog or to an electronic source.
bulletPollak Library Catalog links will include all paper copies and some electronic copies. Direct links to electronic sources will include any additional electronic coverage that we may have.
bulletBe sure to check the dates of coverage and location for each journal needed. Coverage may vary.

Where are paper copies located? Go to Top of Page

bulletThe Pollak Library Catalog will identify the call number, location, and holdings for each title owned in paper format.  Be sure to check this information before proceeding. The Library may not have every issue of the journal you need.
bulletMost journals, those with the location "Periodicals", are located on the 2d floor of Pollak Library North (see map).
bulletThose with different locations (e.g., Compact Stacks, Government Documents) can be found by checking the Location Symbol List.

Are any journal articles available electronically? Go to Top of Page

bulletThe Find Journals by Title list will identify journals in both electronic and paper format. Electronic coverage may be selective--the electronic source may not include every article published in that journal.
bulletFrom the Pollak Library Journal Title List, "CSUF Library Catalog" links will include all paper copies and some electronic copies.  Direct links to electronic sources will include any additional electronic coverage that we may have.
bulletTo access library subscription resources, including full-text journals, you need to be on campus OR to connect from off-campus through the proxy server. (HOW?)

What if I need an article that isn't available at the Pollak Library? Go to Top of Page

bullet Books and articles not available in Pollak Library can be requested through LINK+ and through ILLiad.
bulletPollak Library can obtain books (through LINK+ or ILLiad) or articles (through ILLiad) for you from other libraries (average turn-around time 4-14 days).
bulletOr you can go to another library yourself (CSUF faculty, staff, and students have reciprocal borrowing privileges at several libraries).
