You will find regular TESOL-related books in the CSUF Library on
the 4th, 5th, & 6th floors of the South Wing. You will find
Reference TESOL books (encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc.) on the Reference floor
(1st, North).
Books are arranged on the shelves by Library of Congress call
numbers. These call numbers do a valuable service: they group books
on similar subjects together on the shelf. For example, all the books on
Sociolinguistics will be near each other. Here are some common call
numbers ranges for TESOL-related subjects (in no particular order):
PE 1128

PE 1106, 1112 Grammar

While randomly browsing books on the shelf might be interesting, its not
effective when you need to find a specific book. To do that, use the
library's online catalog to look up a book. Then you'll
be able to find the Call number so you can find exactly where you book
is located. You can search OPAC different ways: |
 |
 | by official SUBJECT
examples: English language grammar
Linguistics
Bilingualism
|
 | by random KEYWORD
examples: activities and English and speaking
pronunciation and accent
lessons and ESL
|
 | and by author, title, or call#...if you know them
(click here if you'd like to
link directly to the online catalog now) |
|

|

 |
The online catalog uses specific subject terms only...it won't
understand "any 'ole thing" you type in (such as acronymns).
For TESOL and ESL, use the subject term:
"English Language, Study and
Teaching" |
